Rising numbers of Indiana working families are taking advantage of
federal programs designed to help them in times of economic
hardship. Food stamp participation nearly doubled since 2000
according to a study released by the Indiana Institute for Working
Families, Is Indiana Getting Its Fair Share? Federal Programs
Available to Help Working Hoosier Families. Yet thousands of
families are missing out on millions of dollars and valuable
benefits to help them through economic difficulties.

2008 Indiana Homeless and Affordable Housing Walks Raise Nearly
$425,000 |

| Indianapolis. This spring, eight
communities across Indiana participated in Homeward Bound –
Indiana’s 5K Walk Series to Provide Housing and Fight
Homelessness, a project of the Indiana Coalition on Housing
and Homeless Issues (ICHHI).
The Coalition is pleased to report that the 2008 campaign has raised
nearly $425,000 statewide. The proceeds raised will benefit over 80
affordable housing and homeless service providers around the state.
